Dr. Azar Payvandi received her B.Sc in cell biology from the University of British Colombia in 1993, and she went on to receive her D.M.D from UBC dental school in 1997. She has been providing excellent quality dental care for over 22 years on the north shore.

In order to provide the best quality dentistry for her patients, Dr. Payvandi keeps herself up-to-date with the latest technology and dental materials by regularly taking courses and attending lectures in different areas of dentistry. She makes every effort to ensure that her patients are fully informed about their different treatment options and takes the time to answer all their questions. Being a mother of two, she can easily connect with kids and enjoys working on them. Increasing patient comfort and decreasing their dental anxiety is of paramount importance to her.  “Patients’ trust is my number one priority and it truly gives me a great sense of joy to see that my patients are happy with their smiles and their dental work.”

Dr. Payvandi strongly believes in educating children and youth about good oral health habits. She visits schools to teach kids how to take care of their teeth and the importance of maintaining  a healthy diet to prevent cavities. She also gives back to the community by providing dental care packages to the Downtown Eastside and by donating dental instruments  and materials to programs that provide essential dental care   in third world countries. “I believe that through education and giving back to the community we can all make a difference.”

Besides dentistry, Dr. Payvandi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, painting, walking and skiing the beautiful mountains of BC. She is looking forward to welcoming you and taking care of your dental needs in her dental office.
